George Mason University School of Law Professor Named Member of the Federal Trade Commission

ImageA graduate of George Mason University School of Law (GMUSL), Justin Ayars earned his Juris Doctorate in 2007. Justin Ayars was President of the school’s Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity, and continues to enjoy keeping up with current events from his alma mater. 

After receiving a Federal Trade Commission membership nomination from President Obama, GMUSL Professor Joshua Wright was recently confirmed as such by the United States Senate. Once he begins his duties as a Commissioner, Professor Wright will take a leave of absence from the University faculty. Currently he serves in the school’s Department of Economics and is recognized as “one of the leading Antitrust scholars of his generation” according to GMUSL’s Dean Daniel D. Polsby.

Through Mason’s Law and Economics Center Judicial Education Program, Professor Wright frequently offers lectures to judges at state and federal levels on topics including empirical methods and antitrust economics.
