About Justin Ayars

Justin Ayars completed his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from The College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, in May 2003. Upon his graduation, Mr. Ayars had earned a place on the Dean’s List and the National Dean’s List for three consecutive years. Widely active throughout his undergraduate years, Justin Ayars also studied for a summer at the University of Cambridge’s Christ College, finished a tour abroad as a Student Ambassador to Australia, and served as the Justice and Chief Financial Officer of the Undergraduate Honor Council.

Continuing his education at the George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, Virginia, Justin Ayars earned his Juris Doctor in May 2007. During his graduate studies, Mr. Ayars co-authored a paper with one of the school’s well-respected scholars and professors and also held membership in the Journal of Law, Economics & Policy. Justin Ayars also ranked as a finalist in a National Arbitration Competition and received an Honorable Mention in the Michael Greenberg Student Writing Competition. During his years in law school, Justin Ayars held several legal internships. He served in the office of the Maryland Attorney General, supporting the Courts and Judicial Affairs Division while drafting legal documents and opinion letters and working directly beside the Assistant Attorney General.

In 2006, Justin Ayars interned at the Federal Trade Commission in Washington, D.C. Placed in the Bureau of International Consumer Protection, Mr. Ayars led a task force of national law enforcement members in an effort to crack down on the sale of deceptive diabetes treatments.

After graduating, Justin Ayars joined the Fourth Judicial Circuit of Virginia. Mr. Ayars drafted memoranda, judicial opinions, and orders in both criminal and civil matters. In 2008, Justin Ayars joined Semmes, Bowen & Semmes as an Associate, where he continued until starting his own practice in the middle of 2009. Justin Ayars currently owns several companies of his own design.

These various ventures reflect his broad interests and include Tinkers, LLC, a woodshop that specializes in restoring antique furnishings, and the Umbrella Management Group, LLC, at which Mr. Ayars offers comprehensive management services to bars, restaurants, and other businesses. The majority of Justin Ayars’ current ventures are based in Richmond, Virginia.
